RefWorks and Ovid
- While in Ovid, select the citations to be placed in RefWorks by clicking the check box(es) next to the desired article(s). If you want to send everything on the page, or everything from a search result set, you do not need to select the individual citations.
- Locate the Reference Manager box (located in between the search box and the results).
- In the "Results" column, choose "Selected Results". You also have the options to send everything on the page or everything in the search result set.
- In "Fields", choose "Complete Reference".
- In "Result Format", choose "Direct Export".
- In the "Actions" column, click "Save".
- Select "Export results to RefWorks"
- A Refworks window should open up, with a "References Imported" message.
- These references will automatically be sent to the "Last Imported" folder, where they can be moved later.
- At the bottom of the screen you will see an option to "Globally Edit Fields for Imported References". It will automatically include the date and OVID as the data source. You can edit these fields to tag all the citations you just imported with any pertinent information (like "Medline" for database).
